Tourism Minister Uzi Landau retires from politics

Tourism Minister Uzi Landau announced today his retirement from politics. Landau was first elected to the Knesset in 1984 on the Likud party’s list.

He was appointed Minister of the Interior in 2001 and a minister without portfolio in 2003. In 2004, he was fired by PM Ariel Sharon for his opposition to the disengagement. In 2008, he switched from the Likud to Yisrael Beyteinu.
