Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman responded to Likud criticism that Yisrael Beteynu was interested in a left wing government led by Herzog.
“We need to have a discussion about the issues without name calling”, he said. He also mentioned that he greatly respects the Prime Minister despite their differences of opinion.
Yisrael Beteynu has traditionally been considered part of the “right wing bloc” along with the Likud and the Orthodox parties. If all these parties would remain in that bloc it will be virtually impossible for anyone except Netanyahu to form a government after the election. The fear is that Lieberman will abandon the right wing bloc in order to secure a rotation for the Prime Ministership with those on the left including Herzog.Source (Hebrew): http://www.nrg.co.il/online/1/ART2/658/133.html
